EntreGurus’ intention is to provide you with a valuable daily idea that you can read in under 5 minutes. Your time is very valuable and we know that you are super busy! With that in mind, we wanted to make sure that we could give you as accurate a reading time as possible. So, how did we go about this?
We researched the average reading speed for adults. Some sources point to 200, 250 or up to 300 words per minute (wpm). We decided to be very conservative and take 200 wpm as our baseline (of course, if you read at a faster speed, it will take you even less time).
The total word count for each post is divided into 200 wpm, and that is how we arrive at the reading time. Fortunately we don’t have to do this manually, there is a wonderful (and free) online tool called Read-O-Meter that does the calculation. Try it out: copy and paste the text of anything that you need to read online to figure out how much time it will take you.
By calculating the time that each of our posts takes to read, we keep ourselves accountable to the promise of never taking more than 5 minutes of your time a day to bring you ideas and inspiration.
